EXTRUSION UNIT SPECIALLY DESIGNED FOR STIFF EXTRUSION
Tecnofiliere has developed an extrusion unit specially designed for very high-pressure operation using clays with a low moisture content (between 13% and 16%) in a semi-wet or semi-dry stiff extrusion process.
The extrusion unit consists of a differentiated taper pressure head with a special polymer lining and a die equipped with a dedicated lubrication system for the introduction of liquid lubricant into the die. This minimises extrusion friction and consequently deterioration of materials as well as energy dissipation and reduction in yields.
The TFI Special model die consists of multiple sub-liner plates to stabilise the clay flow and oversized cores and liners made of Tecnocarbide®, the special tungsten carbide alloy developed exclusively by Tecnofiliere, with characteristics of toughness and hardness (2000HV) that make it suitable for withstanding the high wear the parts are exposed to during the extrusion process.
