LA ESCANDELLA AT THE HEAD OF THE WORLD ROOF TILE SECTOR Agost is home to one of the largest roof tile factories in the world, built recently by a major emerging company in the clay product manufacturing sector, La Escandella. The new factory is able to produce 700 tonnes of roof tiles a day; this capacity has allowed the company to double its pressed roof tile production from 46 to 100 million pieces a year. The only Italian company to have taken part in the project was TECNOFILIERE, considered a world-leading company in extrusion technology, which supplied the dies for both extruded and pressed tiles. The bent tiles extrusion dies were produced with four, five and six exits: very unusual for the heavy clay sector.
