TECNOFILIERE CONVERTS THE EXTRUDER FROM CONICAL TO CYLINDRICAL
Tecnofiliere has implemented a project to convert the extruder from conical to cylindrical in order to improve the continuity of the clay flow.
When the moist body is pushed by the auger towards the die, it performs a series of movements in different directions
along the spirals of the auger and containment ring, including backward regurgitations. These movements generate
frictional forces inside and outside the body, resulting in heat production. The considerable quantities of thermal energy
that are produced account for 60-80% of the total energy consumption of the auger and die, even though the average temperature increase is just 4-6°C.
